    *

    Part-Time Contract Position Remote (shared workspace may be available, depending upon the location of the applicant) Estimated 15-20 hours a week Reports to the Board of Directors of COSMA through its President COSMA is the only national entity whose priority is to serve the needs and aspirations of state museum associations. We connect and strengthen state museum associations to build our collective capacity to advance the excellence of museums in every state. We build partnerships and services to provide improved resources, influence, and access for state museum associations to carry out their missions. We lead a national network committed to representing the values and viewpoints of state museum associations. COSMA is comprised of a working board of up to 15 members, with an Executive Committee (Officers) and Committee Chairs of Programs, Communications, Membership and Development, Advocacy, and At-Large Directors Qualifications Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated skills/abilities in the following: ● Experience in museum association management or a museum leadership role. ● Successful relationship with a working board of directors or trustees. ● Successful and measurable experience with grant writing and fundraising. ● Excellent oral and written communication skills. ● Highly organized with experience in problem-solving. ● Comfortable with public speaking. ● Experience with advocacy on a state and/or national level. ● Adept in working in a digital environment including Google Workspace and Zoom. Responsibilities Manage operations of the organization under the guidance of the Board Directors and following the policies, strategies, and established procedures including: ● Financial records and reports ● Board o Schedule and prepare materials for board meetings o Maintain and update files as needed o Meet weekly with Board chair o Prepare financial and program reports ● Contractor oversight Membership and Development: ● Manage membership and development programs in coordination with Membership and Development Committee ● Assist with grants and other fund-raising activities ● Oversee Wild Apricot membership database ● Organize annual member meeting (virtual or in person as Association finances allow) Communications: ● Manage Association communications in coordination with Communications Committee ● Create and email newsletter including design, layout, and links to relevant web pages ● Create and send emails to build engagement with programs ● Engage with members through Facebook group ● Maintain contact lists in Wild Apricot. ● Maintain and enhance Wild Apricot website including: o Keep calendar and program details current o Build new pages as needed ● Assist users and members with Wild Apricot registration, email confirmations, and locating information. Program: ● Plan and coordinate monthly online programs in conjunction with the Program Committee. ● Work with presenters to plan the session (time frame and content) ● Schedule and conduct practice sessions as needed ● Prepare and distribute program assessment surveys Advocacy: ● Participate in national museum advocacy issue discussions including quarterly IMLS meetings and IMLS national survey planning. ● Attend Museum Advocacy Day and American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting in person (as Association finances allow). Perform other duties as assigned by the Board.

    Hiring Salary Range (Answer must be numerical)
