    Summer 2024 Education Internship Opportunity

Tellus Science Museum is pleased to offer a paid internship in the Education Department for an undergraduate student (rising junior, rising senior, or graduating senior) who is interested in teaching in a formal or informal setting i.e. museums, zoos, etc.

    This internship pays $18/hr and lasts for approximately 12 weeks. Approximately 30 hours/wk. (May 15 – August 2, 2024).

Successful candidates will be expected to create a new program or workshop for future use in the museum. The intern will also be expected to keep a journal of their daily adventures in this program. The program includes opportunities to meet, work with, and interview a variety of museum professionals at Tellus and its sister institutions to understand how a museum functions and serves its community.

Interns will participate in summer programming with the education department including SummerQuest, public events such as RockFest and Wild About Weather, and the biannual rocket workshop Build + Blast. This internship reports to the Director of Education who will work with the intern to create an interest and strength-based program.

Tellus Science Museum is located in Cartersville, Georgia. This 120,000 square-foot museum includes galleries focusing on geology, fossils, transportation and interactive science. The museum also has an observatory, planetarium and solar house display. Tellus attracts over 200,000 guests a year including 40,000 students.
